Alix Pentecost-Farren is an artist and designer. She studied illustration and filmmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design before moving to New York. Her work reflects a love of folklore, myth, and nature, informed by her childhood in the rural south. She moves between the worlds of fine art and design, making drawings, wallpaper, textiles, prints, and ceramics.

Her work has been awarded a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators, a Communication Arts Award of Excellence, honored by the 3x3 and American Illustration annuals, and shown by galleries in the U.S. and abroad. She has been an artist in residence at the SVA RisoLAB, the New York Center for Book Arts, Amtrak/Passion Passport, Elsewhere Museum, and the Vermont Studio Center.

Pentecost-Farren’s clients have included The New York Times, MUBI, California Sunday Magazine, Pop-up Magazine, Sierra Club, Scientific American, The Nature Conservancy, Fatherly, Nonesuch Records, Thrillist, and Medium.com.
